AR Museum at your home

Part of the oldest art on Earth was created 36,000 years ago on the walls of the Chauvet cave in France. However, these days physical access to the cave is limited to preserve the source. Thanks to augmented reality, the cave is now again open to the public.

AR technology allows you to transfer any museum directly to your home or apartment. Today, in order to carefully examine the most unique exhibits, it’s enough just a bare wall and a tablet (smartphone) with good internet. For example, users of the Google Arts and Culture app for iOS and Android can travel through the French Chauvet cave directly in their space and explore its ancient murals. For the application to work, you only need a horizontal surface on which the app places the cave model in the form of a dollhouse, with the possibility of approximation and detailed study of all fragments of the cave.
