Sony releases an AR app to promote the new Spider-Man movie

Using the latest ARKit and ARCore surface detection capabilities, the app enables placing Spidey and his long-time nemesis Mysterio on the floor and other surfaces right in front of users. Moreover, Spider-Man could hang down from the ceiling, make selfies with a user, and even shoot the web right into user’s camera. Spidey sports his brand new red and black suit in the app, but there’s also an option to see him in the costumes from different eras.

App users would also have access to the rare digital content, such as photos and videos from Peter Parker’s phone, stiker gallery, and movie trailer. The app developers, Trigger, have a long story of cooperation with sony on that franchise, as they have been creating AR experiences for Spider-Man movies since the original trilogy ended.
